Strata is Certified as an Approved Maintenances Organization (AMO) under UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) CAR-145 regulation
Sara Abdulla Al Memari: “Strata’s capabilities extend far beyond the manufacturing of aerostructures, with our ambitions and potential continuing to grow across complimentary segments of the aerospace industry.”
[Al Ain, UAE] Strata Manufacturing PJSC (“Strata”), wholly owned by the Mubadala Investment Company and a leading advanced manufacturing company, has achieved a significant new milestone with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (“GCAA”) by granting the company its Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) certification as per CAR-145.

The certification expands Strata’s business offerings and value chain coverage to extend to maintenance, repair and inspection activities leveraging its world class capabilities and infrastructure. This new milestone will be paving the way for new business activities within the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) segment of the aviation industry. This certification by the UAE authorities reinforces Strata’s position both nationally and globally, while strengthening its growing role in the global aerospace industry.
The new CAR-145 approval certificate was formally presented to Strata by the GCAA team in the presence of Sara Abdulla Al Memari, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Strata. Representing the GCAA was Eng. Aqeel Al Zarouni, Assistant Director General of the Aviation Safety Affairs Sector.
On this occasion, Aqeel Al Zarouni, Assistant Director General of the Aviation Safety Affairs Sector at the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), said: “The certification granted to Strata marks an important milestone that reflects the GCAA’s commitment to advancing the UAE’s aircraft maintenance ecosystem in line with the highest international standards. It also strengthens the sector’s readiness by enabling national companies to undertake aircraft maintenance activities within a robust regulatory framework that ensures the highest levels of safety, quality, and compliance.”

He added: “The GCAA is committed to implementing the requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulation CAR-145 in accordance with international best practices and standards. This supports the competitiveness of the UAE’s civil aviation sector and contributes to the nation’s vision of strengthening its position as a leading global hub for the aviation industry, including aircraft manufacturing, maintenance, and aviation services.”
Commenting on the milestone, Sara Abdulla Al Memari, Acting CEO of Strata said: “This significant achievement, marked by the successful attainment of CAR-145 approval from the GCAA. It reflects our continued commitment to growth and the diversification of our business and regulatory excellence, while supporting our ambition to play an increasingly influential role across the aerospace industry”.
She added: “This certification opens new horizons for Strata in aircraft component maintenance activities, further strengthening our global position and building on our distinguished manufacturing journey since 2010, which has resulted in the production of more than 120,000 advanced-composite aerostructure components. As we expand beyond manufacturing into maintenance and quality services, we are taking another important step in our evolution and creating new opportunities to further enhance Strata’s offerings and contribution to the local and global aerospace industry”.
Strata’s entry into the MRO sector builds on the company’s earlier efforts to establish capabilities in aircraft component repair. In 2023, during the Dubai Airshow, Strata signed a Memorandum of Understanding and strategic partnership with Lufthansa Technik Middle East to undertake precision repair activities for selected aircraft components manufactured from composite materials.
